More training needed to keep our drinking water safe: report

Cinq-Mars noted that Quebec’s minimum training requirements for operators of drinking-water plants “are lower than those in Ontario and other North American jurisdictions.”

He characterized the Municipal Affairs Department’s monitoring of city waterworks contracts as“deficient.”

“We have not made any inquiries with regards to corruption or collusion,” Cinq-Mars said, but “the government was probably paying more than it should be paying.”
